Top Instagrammable Spots in Fuerteventura

If you’re anything like me you have that annoying little ‘bell’ inside your head that doesn’t let you stop and enjoy a location until you make certain you get that gram. But all travellers out there know that it’s not as easy as it sounds in that you may expect a location to be amazing but when you arrive there you can’t help being disappointed…..or visa versa. If you’ve nodded your head to any of that then THIS is the blog post for you as I will countdown my top instagrammable spots in Fuerteventura. If you do what we did and rent out a car to road trip the entire island (which you can totally do within a few days) or are staying in a town and just want to find some great places nearby, I have (what I think is) a great little list here.

Playa Ajuy

Between the black sand beach, the light cream volcanic cliffs and the gorgeous turquoise waves, Playa Ajuy is a top fave for us both. For a bonus pic, go at sunset! We nearly skipped that stop but so glad we made it before it got dark!

Corralejo Natural Park

So picture this: you’re driving down the motorway, the azure sea on your right and a mountainous desert on your left. It is honestly a mouth gaping view and it has to be my favourite drive EVER! It felt like something out of a movie and it’s a perfect photo spot as all you need is to cross the road for two completely different locations.

Lobos Island

Yes, it is an island. And yes it is amazing. Everything from the ferry ride there, to the crystal clear lagoons, to the authentic paella, and the country hike this little volcanic island is phenomenal.  Definitely a nice little day trip, just make sure you double check the time for the boat back so you don’t get stranded like we did…..twice.

Punta Jandía lighthouse

If you’re not into off roading, forget about this, because the way there will make the bolts in your car rattle. HOWEVER, the view off the peninsula is *deep breath* beautiful. To be honest, I don’t have the words to describe the wow factor of this place so ….

Popcorn Beach

Yes such a thing exists. No it’s not real popcorn ,unfortunately.  This is another off road destination, however, this is more or less survivable (hehe). This little stretch of beach is covered with pieces of white coral that looks just like popped corn.

And there you have it. My five top photo spots for the best Insta photos. Hope you enjoyed this, but more so, hope you get your tushies there once all this lockdown business is over because I tell you, it is one for the photo albums!
